Zheng Liu is an assistant professor ("青年千人"教授) of the Institute for Advanced Studies at Wuhan University, China.
Zheng graduated from Xiamen University in 2004. He earned his Ph.D at theXiamen University in 2010 with Prof. Bin Ren (任斌教授), where he worked on physical chemistry, nanophotonics and tip-enhanced Raman spectroscope (TERS) . In Dec. 2011, he joined Prof. Tim Lian lab at Emory university as a postdoc, where developed a AFM-integrated time and spatially resolved fluorescence microscopy for studying the Interfacial charge transfer dynamics by single QD modified AFM tip. After two years, he joined Prof. Khalid Salaita group at Emory, where he changed his research interests to the field of cell mechanics and developed optomechanical actuators for controlling the mechanotransduction pathway in living cells.
Dr. Zheng Liu has been selected as one of the “Thousand Talents Program for Distinguished Young Scholars” ( “青年千人计划”) in 2016, an initiative of the Chinese government to attract high-level talent from overseas to work in China.
